The
Sarnia Major Atom Sting travelled to London
Wednesday evening to take on the North London
Nationals.
The
Sting carried the early play in this game and were
able to score the games first goal on the power play
on a shot from the point by Tristan Haagsma (assist
Justin Houle, Spencer Preece). Sarnia continued to
press and dominated play as the game entered the 2nd
period, but unfortunately were unable to extend
their lead.
In the 3rd period, London started to
press and were rewarded with 2 quick goals to take
the lead. The Sting would respond as Lucas Ross
(assist Curtis Marks, Spencer Preece) buried a
rebound off a shot from the point to tie the game at
2. London would quickly respond to take a 3 – 2
lead. The Sting would pull their goalie and throw
everything they had at the London goal, hitting the
post and forcing the Nationals goaltender to make
several big stops. The final buzzer would ring and
a disappointing 3 – 2 loss for the Sting.
