With
snow still fresh on the field, the Razor Claws and
Inferno took to the field in SMAA Football for the
Tyke division championship. On their first position
of the game, Razor Claws QB Carter Barron keeps the
ball after the snap and runs for a 27 yard touchdown
to open the scoring. Kaleb Guerette kicked the two
point convert to give the Razor Claws a quick 8-0
lead.
The
Inferno would reply on their next possession as
Cameron Havers got a hand off and a block from his
teammates and headed seventeen yards for the score.
Justin Cain would kick the extra two points and the
game was tied,8-8.
The Razor
Claws on their next possession would march down the
field, where Kalek Guerette would punch in a 7 yard
score, as well as kick the extra two point convert
to give the lead back to the Razor Claws. The
Inferno were not able to score on their next
possession, though showed excellent blocking for
their running backs.
The Razor
Claws would recieve the ball again, and we head down
field where Jackson Smiley ran to the right and
scored a 6 yard touchdown. Guerette again made his
convert, and the Razor Claws took a 24-8 lead after
the first half.
Smiley would add another touchdown for his team at
the start of the second half, scoring on a 12 yard
run. The Inferno defence were able to make tackles
and cause fumbles, but were not able to pick up the
lose ball. Lucas Kita would run in another short
yardage touchdown to give the Razor Claws a 36-8
lead.
On the
next drive, the Inferno would get deep into Razor
Claw territory, but a costly fumble was picked up by
Corban Mackenzie to stop the Inferno drive. Cole
Philips would run in another short yardage
touchdown, as the Razor Claws would go on to win the
Tyke Championship 42-8 over the Inferno.
