Sarnia gets best of London again in second meeting
SARNIASPORTS.COM   November 7th, 2010

After losing last week in a lopsided game that favoured Sarnia, the London Bandits returned to Clearwater Arena with a full squad determined to revenge the loss.

The Bandits came out strong and surprised the Jr. Sting with an early goal scored within one minute of the opening face-off. The Jr. Sting tied it up one minute later on a goal by Collin Zimmer, assist Mathew Waun. The rest of the first period was end-to-end action as both teams traded chances. Stevie Schaefer stood tall in net denying the Bandits and keeping the game tight.

The second period started with early goals from both teams. Evan Trigatti popped in a one-timer on a sweet pass from behind the net from Zimmer; Damon Skinn-Wai also had a helper on the play. London roared right back with a goal 15 seconds later to balance the game at 2 each. With 2 minutes left in the second, Nathan Oliphant passed from the slot to a wide open Hayden Griffin at the right post who calmly ripped a shot to the top corner. Once again the determined Bandits team came right back to tie the game with only 8 seconds left in the 2nd.

In the third period goalie Cameron Stevens (who took his turn in net at the half-way point in the game) shut the door on London and the Jr. Sting offense proved to be too much for the Bandits as Sarnia scored 4 unanswered goals. Zac Moore scored from Ryan Eyre and Ian Bailey at 14:46. Evan Trigatti scored his second of the game at 12:52 from Collin Zimmer and Zimmer scored shortly after for his second of the game from Beynon Jonas. Finishing up the scoring for the Jr. Sting with 30 seconds left in the game was Ryan Eyre from Moore and Bailey. Final score 7 -3 Sarnia.

The Jr. Sting travel to Stratford on Sunday to face the surging Stratford Warriors.
