The
St. Clair Colts
took their home
opener against
the SCITS Blue
Bombers Tuesday
night, winning
51-36. The Colts
held a large
lead throughout
the game, but
the Bombers
managed to score
a lot of their
points in the
fourth quarter,
although it was
a little to
late.
The Colts opened
up the game with
a 9-2 run,
ending the
quarter with a
put back by
Brandon Holmes
for two. The
Colts got the
rebounds and got
their shots to
fall, while the
Bombers had
issues
controlling the
play and getting
good shots on
net. The second
quarter
continued the
good play for
the Colts as
Holmes would add
two more
baskets, while
Tyson Maitland
had a three ball
and Denver
Spearman had
four quick
points to put
the Colts up
26-6 at the
half.
In the third,
the Colt offence
continued as Jon
Moffatt put in
six points,
while Kerrigan
for the Bombers
added four
points of his
own. The Colts
left 42-19 after
three, but the
Bombers still
had something
left.
SCITS would
outscore the
Colts in the
fourth 17-9, as
Kerrigan added
eight points
including two
three pointes,
while the
Bombers went on
a 14-0 run to
end the game.
But it was a
little late for
the Bombers, as
the lead the
Colts had built
throughout the
game was enough
to take the
victory.
The Colts will
travel to the
Vikings on
Thursday, while
the Blue Bombers
have Thursday
off.
