19-11 lead at
the half against
St.
Christopher's
and didn't
relinquish it as
they went on to
defeat the
Cyclones 38-27
in Midget Boys
Basketball
season opener.
St.
Christopher's
could only
muster two
points in the
third quarter,
while St.
Patrick's added
seven more to
take a 26-13
lead. The Irish
got put backs
from beating out
the Cyclones on
rebounds, and
were able to
keep control for
most of the
quarter, moving
the ball around
the perimeter
trying to kill
of the clock.
Sullivan for St.
Patrick's would
get a pass from
a steal and lay
up for two to
start the
fourth, but the
Cyclones hung
in, getting ten
points off free
throws in in
close boards.
But the Irish
would put up
twelve in the
fourth quarter
to secure their
victory.
St. Patrick's
next plays LCCVI
on Thursday,
while the
Cyclones travel
to North Lambton
to take on the
Eagles.
