The
LCCVI Lancers
couldn't hold
the shutout for
Spencer Krall,
but they did
manage to score
six goals in the
second period to
win their third
of the season
with a 8-1 win
over the SCITS
Blue Bombers.
The first period
was close, but
the Lancers
controlled the
boards and below
the net, and
managed to get
the puck from
behind the net
to the slot for
their first goal
by Ryan Trottier.
The Blue
Bomber's were
not able to get
much going in
the period, and
were left with
limited shots on
net.
The second
period saw the
Lancers jump out
to a quick 2-0
lead after Bret
Vandenbroek put
one past the
Bomber net
minder. SCITS
would get a few
scoring chances,
but Krall turned
them away and
kept his
shutout. Josh
McKinnon would
add a goal on a
timed deke
around the
defender and a
wrist shot past
the goalie. The
Lancers would
make it 6-0
after they
scored three
goals in under
two minutes.
Scott Park,
Nolan Cooper and
Ryan Trottier
put in goals for
the Lancers.
Bret Vandenbroek
would score his
second of the
period to send
the Lancers into
the third with a
7-0 lead.
Troy Whitely
would add the
last goal on a
deflection for
the eighth of
the game for the
Lancers.
Unfortunately
for Karll, Tyler
Baker would
sneak in off the
faceoff and put
it past Karl for
the Blue
Bomber's first
goal of the
season. That is
all they would
get as the
Lancers go on to
win 8-1.
The Lancers
still sit on top
of the LSSAA
Boys standings.
Their next
opponents St.
Patrick's on
December 8th.
SCITS will next
play St. Clair
on December 6th.
