The Northern Vikings and LCCVI Lancers skated to a 1-1 tie Thursday afternoon at Clearwater arena. Both goals came in the first period and from there the door was shot on any opportunities.
Each team had chances, as the Lancers had two power plays in the second period, but sent shots wide of the net, and rang others off the post. The Vikings would have the same chanced, tipping shots just wide of the goal post. Both teams played very physical and allowed little room to move around.
In the third period, a disallowed goal in the dying seconds kept the game tied at one, as Northern's goal was called back due to the puck being kicked in. Both goalies made huge saves to keep their team in line for a victory, but ultimatley, no one was able to put the puck past the goalies.
Northern moves to 1-0-1, as does LCCVI. Northern next plays St. Patrick's on Thursday December 2nd, while LCCVI takes on SCITS on Monday November 29th.
