Polera scores Hat Trick in Petrolia victory

The Petrolia Squires took on the last place Thedford Dirty Dogs and came away with a 9-4 victory. Jason Polera would score two goals in the first period, including one on the power play to give the Squires a 2-0 lead. Polera would add another point as he assists on JJ Martin’s goal, also assisted by Carson Simpson. The Squires would allow three goals to be scored on them in the second period after allowing none in the first, but they answered with three of their own, and held a 5-3 lead going into the third.

From there the Squires took control, with Polera completing the hat trick and his fourth point of the night. James Edgar would get in on the multi-point game as well, scoring a goal and adding two assists, all within third period. Dan Veenema added three assists as well for another multi-point player.

The Squires scored three times on the power play, and held Thedford to only one goal in the third for the victory.

Petrolia next plays in Tavistock on November 6th, and in Goderich on Novermber 12th before coming home to play Tavistock on November 19th. The Squires will host their annual Comedy Night Sat., Nov 13 at the Wyoming Fair Building. Doors open at 7 pm.
