Pacers losing streak continues against Six Nations

Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia Pacers suffered another big loss Friday night, as the Jr. B Lacrosse team returned home for their first game of a five game home stand, losing 21-5 to the Six Nations Rebels.

The game was held scoreless till the 7:19 mark of the first period, when Vaughn Harris put the Rebels up 1-0 with his first of the game. It was followed just over a minute later by Chris Attwood's first of the game, as Six Nations went on to score three more goals and jump out to a 5-0 lead. Sarnia would get their chance on the powerplay, and Kevin Hussey would score, making it a 5-1 game. But Harris would add his second of the period to put the Revels up 6-1 after the first.

In the second, the Pacers came out with a quick goal by Dan Charlton just 36 seconds in. But Harris would add his hat-trick goal 11 seconds later, followed by Joe Hoadias Maracle scoring to put the Rebels up 8-2. TJ Mara would score next of the Pacers, as Sarnia could only get two to slip by Rebels goalie Don Alton in the second. Brandon Montour would score his third of the game, while Jesse Johnson score his first, Attwood his second on the powerplay and Maracle his second of the period, as the Rebels took a 12-3 lead into the third.

In the third, Six Nations continued as Jacob Bomberry scored 1:35 in. Montour would add his fourth of the game before Kevin Conroy of Sarnia would get the pacers back on the board. Attwood would complete his hat-trick, while Dallas John would also add a single goal for the Rebels. Conroy would add his second of the period, scoring the Pacers only two goals of the period. Six Nations would go on to score five more goals including two from Chris Attwood, as they take it 21-5.

Sarnia was heavily outshot 65-32, as Justin Matthews stopped 26 of 36 shots he faced, before being replaced by Ian Ferguson who stopped 18 of the 29 shots he faced.

Sarni has now lost seven straight, and will try and break that streak against Orangeville on Saturday, May 28th.
