Pacers fourth straight loss comes by big margin

Windsor, ON - The Sarnia Pacers had their losing streak extended to four games Thursday night in Windsor, as the Clippers scored 22 goals on the Pacers to win 22-5 in Jr. B Lacrosse action.

Windsor held the Pacers scoreless in the first period, but it didn't stop the Clippers from scoring seven goals. Brendon Anger got the scoring started in the first, while Lucas Ducharme AP scored with an extra attack, and scored his second of the period in the second half of the period. Brett Hickey scored a powerplay goal while Corey Burch and Jeff Rivait scored shorthanded goals.

In the second period, Devin Humphrey and Burchell started with powerplay goals, while Travis Boomer added the Clippers 10th goal of the game. Sarnia was finally able to get on the board as Kevin Hussey scored to make it 10-1.

But that would be all the offence the Pacers would get for the period, as Hickey and Anger would score their seconds of the game, Trevor Learn would score a single goa, and Jeff Rivait would score two goals in the period, including a powerplay goal for his third of the game, giving the Clippers a 15-1 lead after two.

In the third, Humphrey would again score to start the period on the powerplay, while Burchell would score his forth of the game. Hussey would core again for Sarnia for his second of the night, while Dan Charlton would score thirty seconds after for Sarnia's first back to back goals, but Brett Hockey would add his third of the game, while Adam Moore and Cameron Rogers would each get single goals shorthanded.

Kevin Conroy would score for Sarnia on the powerplay, but Gianni Martinello would score Windsors third shorthanded goal of the period. Lucas Brouillard and Joe McKelvie would add single goals to round out the score in the loop sided 22-5 final.

Brett Hickey lead all scoring with 3 goals and 7 assists, while Corey Burchell lead in goals with 4 goals and 1 assist. Justin Matthews got the loss for the Pacers stopping 10 shots of the 19 he faced. Ian Ferguson came in and played 36 minutes, allowing 13 goals on 32 shots.

With the loss, Sarnia moves to the bottom of the division, while Windsor now sits on top. Sarnia next will take on Owen Sound on Sunday, May 22nd in Owen Sound.
