Sarnia Fury Black downed by Fury Red
sarniasports.com may 19th, 2011

The Sarnia Fury Black played their second game of the regular season under rainy skies and poor field conditions at Blue Water Bridge Fields. Their opponents were the strong Sarnia Fury Red (U10) team headed by coach Aldo DeSantis.

Fury Red opened the scoring early on a beautiful cross and finish by the Red striker. Fury Black seemed to settle down after the goal and had its own chance on the equalizer, as Striker Tristan Konrad found himself alone in front of the goal only to fire it directly at the keeper. The long ball seemed to cause the most damage as the Fury Red scored three additional goals from long distance. Red was up 4 - 0 at the half.

The second half was the most energetic for Fury Black as the nine year olds seemed to own possession early on in play. The squad was determined to score but the Red keeper denied most attempts and held strong. Fury Black's goalie, Andrew Harron was kept tremendously busy but stood tall in goal closing down ample opportunities by the Red Fury strikers.

Fury Red would score a late goal closing out the scoring with a 5 - 0 win. Coaches were very proud of our Fury Black's performance throughout the game. Kids on both sides of the pitch played extremely well considering the harsh elements they endured.
