sarniasports.com may 19th, 2011

The Sarnia Pacers Tyke’s first weekend double header against Sun County proved to be a rewarding Saturday the young lacrosse players.

Game 1

Hunter Dalgety started the day off with an unassisted goal and an assist early in the first period. He was followed by goals from Brett Vince and Nolan Cadieux with the Pacers net minder Sean Foster holding the Crows to only one goal in the first.

Hunter and Nolan were also busy in the second period scoring a goal each after multiple attempts by several players including Sebastian Frenette and Eric McDonald. The Pacers finished up the third period with goals by Sebastian Frenette and two by Eric McDonald. Notable attempts were by Jaxon Rawcliffe, Mason Winegard-Milne and Corson Young. A tough defensive game in the third managed to hold the Crows to only six points allowing the Pacers to take the game with 8-6 final score.

Game 2

The second game of the Pacers double header against the Sun County Crows proved to be a real nail biter. Sebastian Frenette started the game off with a goal early in the first assisted by Eric McDonald. McDonad had a busy first period scoring another goal and assisting on a goal by Konner Adams. Frenette would also contribute a second goal in the first period giving the Pacers a three goal lead going into the second period.

The Crows were not to be denied their chance however, coming on strong with four goals in the second. The Pacers responded with two goals from Hunter Dalgety, another from Eric McDonald and a timely assist from Corson Young. Not to be outdone however, the Crows managed four goals in the second and three in the third making it a tie game with 40 seconds left on the clock.

With only seconds to spare Hunter Dalgety managed to win a pivotal face-off and run the ball down the floor for an unassisted goal to put the Pacers one up on the Crows and end the game with a 9-8 win.
