Jimmy Purves put the Sarnia Pacers ahead 10-9 with just under two minutes left in the third period, scoring his fourth of the game to lead the Pacers to their second win in a row.
Purves lead all Pacers will 6 points, including two of Sarnia's three goals in the final period of play, while also chipping in two helpers in the victory.
Sarnia again proved that winning the first period could results in victories, as the Pacers scored 5 in the first to take a 5-4 lead. Despite being down 3-1 within the first 7 minutes of the game, the Pacers would finish off the remaining 13 minutes of the period with four goalies. Josh Eldridge, TJ Mara, Kevin Conroy and Connor Smith had the single goals for the Pacers in the first period.
In the second, Conroy would score his second of the game in the middle of the period, but Hamilton would get three in the second period, knotting the game at 7-7.
In the third, Hamilton would jump out to a two goalie lead on the Pacers, holding their first lead since the beginning of the first period. But along with Purves two goals and Dan Charlton also scoring, the Pacers would finish the last four minutes of the game with three goals and take the victory from Hamilton.
Sarnia drastically outshot Hamilton 67-43. But the Pacers again took the majority of the penalties, allowing 1 goal on 5 powerplay chances.
Sarnia goalie Justin Matthews made 34 saves in the victory, earning his second win on the season.
Sarnia now has a 2-1-0 record, and sits first in their division with four points. Sarnia will next take on London for their second road game on a three game stand on May 4th.
