Sarnia, ON - The St. Clair Colts senior girls rugby team remained perfect through three games, as the Colts defeated the LCCVI Lancers 57-0 in LSSAA rugby action Thursday.

The Colts had not surrendered a single point all season, but came out quickly against the Lancers to take the lead. After the Colts picked up a fumbled ball, and pitch it across the field into the hands of Sam Kaldeway who scored for the first try of the game.

Another turnover by the Lancers would lead to Julia Greenshield scoring a try, while Taryn Bernier would kick the convert as the Colts took a 12-0 lead.

Bernier would be in on the third try as she would kick the ball down field, away from the Lancers who were threatening to score, but a bobble by the Lancers would allow Bernier to pick up the ball and fall into the end-zone for a try. She would also add the convert to make it 19-0.

The Colts would score two more before the end of the half, as Jaime Esser would score her first try of the game and Greenshield would get her second of the game as the Colts took a 31-0 into the half.

In the second, Jenna Coultes and Britney Wilkins would add two tries of the five the Colts got in the second, as the Colt's moved the ball quickly down the field and scored.

Despite not scoring, LCCVI had chances in the game, coming up short due to turnovers. Not able to get much a rhytheme going in the game, the Lancers fell behind quickly, and were not able to push the ball far into the Colt zone.

LCCVI is in third place with a 1-0-2 record, while St. Clair is 3-0-0 and sits in first.

The next game for both teams in on May 10th, as they will play in the semi-final games. St. Clair will take on St. Patrick's while LCCVI will take on St. Chris.
