Sarnia, ON – Sarnia Sting President Larry Ciccarelli announced today that the club has completed a pair of deals with the Sudbury Wolves and then with the Windsor Spitfires.
The Sting have traded its 1st round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 CHL Import Draft in return for Sudbury’s 1st round selection (originally Mississauga’s – 57th overall) in the Import Draft, a 2nd round pick (originally Ottawa’s – 39th overall) in this Saturday’s OHL Priority Selection and Sudbury’s 5th round pick in 2012.
Following that trade the Sting then sent the 2nd round pick acquired from Sudbury (39th overall) and an 11th round pick (206th overall) to the Windsor Spitfires in return for Windsor’s 2nd round pick in 2016 and a 3rd round pick in 2014.
The OHL Priority Selection will take place this Saturday May 7th beginning at 9:00am. The first three rounds of the draft will be streamed online at www.ontariohockeyleague.com.
