This event has a really unique spirit.  People attending will see the passion and joy that our adult skaters bring to the sport,”  said William Thompson, Skate Canada Chief Executive Officer, who was unable to attend Wed meeting  “Whether they have just taken up skating, are coming back to it after a few years away, or have been participating all their lives, these skaters dedicate their time and energy to preparing for this event.  We hope everyone who attends will enjoy seeing this level of competition.”

Sarnia-Lambton last hosted a National Skate Canada event in 2005. “We know how supportive our community is and we proved it in 2005 and we are confident that 2011 will be no different.” said Sharon LaPier, Co-Chair of the host committee.

The host committee, which includes many members of the skating community as well as representatives from Tourism Sarnia Lambton and the RBC Centre have been hard at work preparing for these Championships and are excited to showcase Sarnia-Lambton to all the athletes, coaches, families and friends from across Canada that will call Sarnia-Lambton home for those 3 days.  The event will also include Lambton County skating clubs from Alvinston & Watford.
