It doesn't happen often at home for the Lakers, but
they suffered a home loss in game one of their
playoff series with the Wheatley Sharks, falling
4-2.
In the
first period Wheatley jumped out to an early two
goal lead as Trevor Grieve scored to make it 1-0 and
59 seconds later Shawn Quigley made it 2-0 on the
powerplay. The Lakers would respond back with quick
goals of their own as Nash Lozon made it 2-1, and
three minutes later Tyson Isaac tied the game at
2-2.
In the
second period Quigley would get his second of the
game for the Sharks, putting them back up 3-2.
Despite putting 16 shots on goalie Marc Tremblay,
the Lakers were not able to find the back of the net
for the equalizer in the second.
In the
third period Grieve would add his second of the game
to put the Sharks up 4-2. The Lakers couldn't come
any closer and drop game one 4-2.
Matt
Berglund made 31 saves in the loss, while Tremblay
stopped 34 shots.
Game two
goes March 5th in Wheatley.
