The Red Wings won the Instructional division final of the March Break House league tournament with a 4-3 overtime victory over Toronto Sunday afternoon at clearwater arena.
The Red Wings started the scoring in the first as Brett Vince comes down the wing and gets a breakaway chanse, putting a wrist shot passed Toronto goalie Derek Moore to put them up 1-0.
Before the period would get out, the Wings would go up 2-0 as Coltin Mitchell would speed in and drive to the net, putting his shot low and between the legs of Moore and into the back of the net for a two goal lead at the end of the first
In the second Toronto would get on the board in the first minute, as Owen Ferrera got the puck in the slot and put a wrist shot passed Hayden Forte of the Red Wings to cut the lead to 2-1.
Nathan Lavender would almost tie the game for Toronto as his wrap around attempt is just short of the goalie line, and Forte is there to make the save. Back the other way with the Red Wings on a breakaway, Toronto defencemen Jason Bacchus makes a diving poke check with his stick to break up the play, keeping the Wings from getting a shot onto his goalie.

As the period comes to an end, Toronto would look for the equalizer. With the puck thrown on net, Lavender of Toronto would pick up the rebound and score to tie the game at 2-2 after two periods of play.
In the third, the Red Wings would retake the lead a minute and a half into the period, as Coltin Mitchell would come in on a breakaway, fake the shot on Moore, causing the goalie to go down, while Mitchell skated around him and backhanded the puck into the net. putting the Wings up 3-2.
Toronto pressing for a goal would come close, sliding it through the crease twice, while also hitting their own player in front of the net in what would have been a for sure goal. Forte would also make a big toe save the 3-2 lead.
But midway through the period, the blue and white would find the back of the net as Adam Elsolh throws the puck on net, and it bounces off the pads of Forte and into the back of the net to knot it up 3-3.
The game would need an overtime period to settle it, as neither team could find the go ahead goal in the remainder of the third.
In overtime, it only took1:45 for the Red Wings to go back in front, as Coltin Mitchell picks up a loose puck in front of the Toronto net, dekes around the goalie and puts it into the net for the game winner as the Red Wings win the Instructional division champion for the tournament 4-3 in overtime.
