Red Wings shutout Vancouver in early Saturday morning Instructional

The Red Wings instructional team won there Saturday morning game against Vancouver, shutting out the Instructional 4-0.

The Red Wings got it started early on as Coltin Mitchell scored within the first two minutes to take the early 1-0 lead.

Vancouver goalie John Chartrand would keep them in the game, coming up with a big sprawling save to keep it a one goal game. Garrett Pearce would be alone in front looking to put in the Wings second goalie, but he couldn't catch the handle on the puck, and Vancouver was able to recover, keeping it 1-0 after the first.

 

 

In the second period Nick Cahil had a breakaway chance but his shot went just wide, while coming the other way Seth Ainsworth found Brendan Barrons in front of the net, but the young Red Wing couldn't get to the pass and put it home.

But soon after the Wings would tally another, as Logan Woods picked up a loose puck in front of the net and puts it in open cage, giving the Wings a 2-0 lead after two periods.

In the third, the Wings would increase the lead to three, as Brett Vince would get a breakaway chance, and going down onto his knees he gets the shot off and beats Chartrand for a 3-0 game.

Woods would add another for the Wings to make it 4-0. Despite Brady Pepper getting two breakaways in the third, Red Wings goalie Hayden Forte was able to keep the shutout and give the wings the victory.
