andrew brethauer march 18th, 2011

The Tim Horton's peewee's scored three in the second period to defeat the Kinsmen peewee's 3-2.

The Kinsmen's got on the board early, scoring 23 seconds into the period as Nathan Speed jammed home a puck in front of the net off a scramble.

From there Kinsmen goalie Noah Caverly took over, stopping Kasen Sebben at the side of the net as he tried to jam in the puck, and also Ty Espinola as he tried to hit the opposite corner of the net, but Caverly got the blocker out to keep it a 1-0 game. Brandon Cocozzoli let a slap shot go from the point, but it hit the post and stayed out.

Caverly would finished the period with handful of more saves, as Kinsmen keeps their 1-0 into the second period.

In the second, Caverly stopped Sebben again in the slot, while also coming up big two more times as the Kinsmen have an issue getting the puck out of the zone.

It would finally come back to haunt them as Sebben would come down on a 2 on 1, fanning on the first shot, but still managing to keep control, moving across the top of the crease and wristing a shot passed Caverly to make it a 1-1 game.

9 seconds later, Ty Espinola would come in and send a quick shot on net that would beat Caverly, giving Tim Horton's their first lead of the game.

The Kinsmen would come close, as Jacob Ayers rang a shot of the iron. Coming back the other direction, Kris Meads would let a shot go from the point, fooling Caverly who didn't see the puck, putting Tim Horton's up 3-1 after two periods.

In the third period, both goalies started with big glove saves. Sedden looking for his second goal couldn't beat Caverly, as the young goalie dived across the crease and came up with a huge diving stop to keep it a two goal game. This would be huge for the Kinsmen as Nathan Speed would walk over the blue line and send a shot on net, beating Matt Clouse and making it a one goal game.

Caverly would make three clutch saves to keep his team in it, but in the dying minutes, the Kinsmen couldn't get the puck down into Tim Horton's zone and they would take the game 3-2.
