The Sarnia Major Atom Sting finished off their semi final playdown series with Burlington on the weekend with a 3 – 1 win at home to sweep the series with 3 wins in a row. The Sting will now move on to the Playdown finals.

In game 3, which was played at Clearwater Arena, both teams played a tight 1st period and it would be Burlington who would get on the scoreboard with an early 2nd period goal to take a 1 – 0 lead. The Sting would be quick to respond as Devin Devooght (Austin Coutts) would tie the game before the 2nd period ended. In the 3rd period Devin Devooght (Jack Smith, Dakota Moore) would score his 2nd goal of the game to give Sarnia the lead and Dawson Young (Lucas Ross, Curtis Marks) would score a late goal to seal the win. The Sting would once again put in a very solid defensive effort, outshooting Burlington 25 – 9 in support of winning goalie James Dunn.
