Cyclones move on past first round at OFSSA tournament

The St. Christopher Cyclones got 32 points from Joe Rocca in a 69-38 victory over Twin Lakes secondary school in the first round of the OFSSA championships going on in North Bay.

The Cyclones lead by double for most of the game over the 18th seed Twin Lakes, opening the first quarter with a 20-8 lead, expanding it it 43-20 by half time.

By the third they were up 61-32 and with the game in the bag, the Cyclones ran out the remaining quarter, scoring only 8 points on route to the 69-38 victory.

 

 

With the victory the Cyclones will now face the 14th seed Nicholson Catholic College who lost their first round match up to the 8th seed Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute 47-33. Game time is set for 1:00pm at West Ferris, with the winner moving on to take on the winner of Loyalist and St. Thomas Aquinas.
