The Sarnia Minor Atom MD Jr. Sting earned a victory at home against the West London Hawks on Friday March 4 at the Clearwater Arena.

West London opened the scoring in the first period with only 1 and a half minutes off the clock. Zac Moore scored to tie the game (assist Collin Zimmer) and Hayden Griffin scored shortly after that on a nice feed from Ian Bailey.

The Hawks would tie the game at 2 each at the half way point of the second period and both teams would trade chances for the rest of the frame.

In the third period Daemon Skinn-Wai would bang in a pass from the corner from Hayden Griffin to give the Jr. Sting back the lead. Sarnia would add to their lead while short handed as Mathew Waun scored from Collin Zimmer. Mat would score another goal a few minutes later with assists going to Zac Moore and Collin Zimmer. West London never stopped coming at the Jr. Sting and would score their third goal of the contest late in the last period. Zac Moore would add Sarnia’s last goal of the contest shortly after on a nice feed from Collin Zimmer.

The Jr. Sting will next host the Stratford Warriors on Friday March 11 at the Clearwater Arena; game time is 7:00
