The
monkey has been lifted and thrown off the backs of
the Sarnia Imperials. The Imps rallied after a first
quarter score by Spartans #85 James Howett on a 22
yard pass from #15 Travis Campbell.

yards in the air. Sarnia rumbled back with 14 points
of their own before the half coming on a 55 yard
scamper by #15 Deshawn Hayes. Hayes lead the team in
rushing with 90 yards on 13 carries.
Pat Wright hooked up with #1 Cory Johnson on a wide
open 39 yard pass into the end zone. Topping the
both touchdown's off were two convert kicks made by
Kevin Allaer. Imperials finished the half leading
14-7. The red and gold picked up where they left off
and moved the ball again into the second half where
Pat Wright was able to find #89 Ryan Lounsbury on a
circus catch in the end zone for the major.
Wright
had an aggressive game throwing 11 for 15 and
totalling 126 yards. Kevin Allaer finished the play
with his third convert and then immediately
afterwards on the kickoff, kicked the ball out of
the end zone for a single point rouge. That brought
the game to 22-7. The Spartans finished up the
scoring with a chip shot field goal to make the
final 22-10.
Finally
the Imperials' defense came to play for the final
regular season home game. They shut done Sudbury's
offense with only allowing 60 yards rushing and a
low 134 yards in the air. Leading the defense for
the Imperials was #94 Brady Taylor with 2 sacks and
a fumble recovery. Ricky Gorton, lead the team with
tackles by racking up a cool 7 and also adding a
interception. Leo Rondon added another interception
and 3 tackles of his own.
The
Imperials next opponent is the Tri-City Outlaws
where they will travel to Waterloo to face one of
the toughest teams in the league next Saturday @
7pm.
