April 26th Sarnia Pacers at Wallaceburg Griffins (Tyke)
On Tuesday the Pacer Tykes made their first trip of the year to face their division rivals – the Wallaceburg Griffins. Wallaceburg is fielding two tyke teams this year and after a convincing home victory against Wallaceburg’s second string team the first string Griffins posed considerably more of a challenge. The Griffins drove hard to the net on the very first play leaving the Pacers trailing by four points at the end of the first period. The Pacers were not to be left empty handed in the second however with goals by Brett Vince and Eric McDonald and several good attempts by Sebastian Frenette, Gavin Burgess and Hunter Dalgety. With a five on three advantage in the second period the Griffins were denied any points on their power play by goal tender Sean Foster. The Pacers finished up a very physical game with a goal by Hunter Dalgety in the third for a final score of Griffins 8 and Pacers 3.

Thursday April 28th London Blue Devils at Sarnia Pacers (Tyke)
Thursday was a “nail biter” for the Pacer Tyke parents in a very closely contested home game against the London Blue Devils. The Devils came on strong in the first, with their “Nemesis Number Nine” scoring three goals. The Pacers picked up their defensive game with some physical play by Gavin Burgess and AP Jackson Rawcliffe allowing Corson Young to slip one by the feet of the Blue Devils goalie. The second period was considerably more rewarding for the Pacers with goals by Caelan Babenko, Eric McDonald, and two by Hunter Dalgety. Not to be left out of the action, Sebastian Frenette scored two goals in the third with good attempts by Hunter Dalgety, Eric McDonald, and Caelan Babenko. The Pacers looked great in this game both defensively and offensively but the Devils managed to squeak out a 9-7 victory.

 

May 7th Sarnia Pacers at Sun County Crows – Double Header
Game 1

The Sarnia Pacers Tyke’s first weekend double header against Sun County proved to be a rewarding Saturday. Hunter Dalgety started the day off with an unassisted goal and an assist early in the first period. He was followed by goals from Brett Vince and Nolan Cadieux with the Pacers net minder Sean Foster holding the Crows to only one goal in the first. Hunter and Nolan were also busy in the second period scoring a goal each after multiple attempts by several players including Sebastian Frenette and Eric McDonald. The Pacers finished up the third period with goals by Sebastian Frenette and two by Eric McDonald. Notable attempts were by Jaxon Rawcliffe, Mason Winegard-Milne and Corson Young. A tough defensive game in the third managed to hold the Crows to only six points allowing the Pacers to take the game with 8-6 final score.
 

Game 2
The second game of the Pacers double header against the Sun County Crows proved to be a real nail biter. Sebastian Frenette started the game off with a goal early in the first assisted by Eric McDonald. Eric had a busy first period scoring another goal and assisting on a goal by Konner Adams. Frenette would also contribute a second goal in the first period giving the Pacers a three goal lead going into the second period. The Crows were not to be denied their chance however, coming on strong with four goals in the second. The Pacers responded with two goals from Hunter Dalgety, another from Eric McDonald and a timely assist from Corson Young. Not to be outdone however, the Crows managed four goals in the second and three in the third making it a tie game with 40 seconds left on the clock. With only seconds to spare Hunter Dalgety managed to win a pivotal face-off and run the ball down the floor for an unassisted goal to put the Pacers one up on the Crows and end the game with a 9-8 win.

May 17th Wallaceburg Griffins 1 at Sarnia Pacers(Tyke) 14-3 loss
Well, the Wallaceburg 1 team continues to be a challenge for the Pacer Tyke’s. Shots on goal came fast and furiously in this 14 to 3 defeat. Scoring for the Pacers were Hunter Dalgety, Corson Young and Mason Winegard-Milne. Several good attempts were made by Sebastian Frenette, Konner Adams, Graham Armstrong and Hunter Dalgety.

 

May 19th Sarnia Pacers(Tyke) at Wallaceburg Griffins 2 12-0 win
A good day for the Pacer Tyke’s as they faced Wallaceburg’s #2 team in Wallaceburg. Goalie Sean Foster managed his first shut out in the lopsided 12-0 win. Hunter Dalgety led the scoring with 4 goals. Single goals were scored by: Mason Winegard, Brett Vince, Caelan Babenko, Ryder Nienhuis, Sebastian Frenette, Caleb Laframboise, Eric MacDonald, and Corson Young. There were many assists and great attempts. Koodos to the Wallaceburg #2 team for their fighting spirit.

 

Report May 24th London Blue Devils at Sarnia Pacer(Tyke) 10-7 loss
The Pacer Tyke’s were making London work for their money in this closely contested 10-7 loss to the Blue Devils. In what was a very physical game the Pacers came on strong in the third narrowing the gap and making it go right down to the wire. Nolan Cadieux had his best showing so far leading the team with 2 goals(assisted by Corson Young) and some great defence. Hunter Dalgety’s speed on the face off led to an unassisted goal in the first as well as a goal in the third. Also scoring in the first was Mason Winegard. Ryder Nienhuis added to the score in the third.

 

Report June 4th
Double Header Sarnia Pacer(Tyke) at Windsor Warlocks
Game 1 6-4 loss

The Pacer’s first meeting of the year against the Windsor Warlocks marked a change in net with Zachary Snider taking over the net minding duties. Zack had a great first showing making many saves in a 6-4 loss against the Warlocks. Some great passing and a quick unassisted goal by Hunter Dalgety left the game tied at the end of the first period. Ryder Nienhuis would score one in the second leaving the Pacers trailing by one. Goals in the second by Hunter and Corson Young would finish up the Pacer scoring opportunities. The Windsor goalie was kept busy however by several great attempts by Eric McDonald, Konner Adams, and Sebastian Frenette.

Game 2 11-4 loss
Game 2 against the Warlocks proved to be a little more difficult. Windsor brought a pounding offense to the Pacer net and kept it there for much of the game. Rookie goalie Zack Snider was kept very busy in this 11-4 defeat. The only Pacer goal in the first period was made by Eric McDonald with an assist by Konner Adams. Scoring in the second for the Pacers was Caleb Laframboise assisted by Eric McDonald. Rounding out the third period were goals by Sebastien Frenette and Ryder Nienhuis.
