Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia Pacers won their final game
of the season at home to the Welland Warlords 15-12,
giving them seven wins on the season.

The game
would be held scoreless for the first seven minutes
until Dan Charlton scored shorthanded to open the
scoring, followed 18 seconds later with his second
of the period. Welland would get one back with Corey
Antongiovanni scoring shorthanded, but Aaron
Schieman would reply quickly with a powerplay goal,
followed by Charlton's second of the period.
Antongiovanni would add his second of the period
followed up by Tyler Parson's 12 seconds later to
make it a 4-3 Sarnia lead after one.
Sarnia
would start the second period restoring their two
goal lead as TJ Mara would go end to end for the
Pacers 5th goal. But Welland would close the gap and
tie the game up as Brett Pace and Antongiovanni
would score to make it a 5-5 game.
But
Sarnia's offence would explode in the middle of the
period, scoring five goals as Kevin Conroy would get
two, Charlton his fourth of the game, Schieman his
second and Kyle Conroy would score one, giving the
Pacers a 10-5 lead. Welland's Sebastein Beaudoin
would get Welland back
on
the board, but Kevin Conroy would score his third of
the period to give the Pacers a 11-6 lead going into
the third.
In the
third the Warlords would try to make the comeback,
as Antongiovanni got his fourth and fifth goals of
the game, with Pace also getting his second. Kevin
Conroy would add one in the period for four on the
night, while Tyler Parson's would get his second of
the game for Welland. Kyle Conroy and Josh Eldridge
would add goals in the middle of the period, as
would Brooker Muir and Scott Johnstone for Welland.
Schieman would add his third of the game for the
final score as the Pacers win 15-12.
Ian
Ferguson picked up his first win of the season,
stopping 39 shots in the victory.
The
Pacers end the season with a 7-13-0 record. They
missed the playoffs by four points behind London and
Wallaceburg.
