Glenworth, ON - The Alvinston Indians travelled to
Glanworth on Wednesday evening, to play the
Glanworth Gators. Brad Young took the hill for the
Indians, while Glanworth countered with Keenan
Haight.
Alvinston got on the scoresheet early, with two runs
in the first inning, but Glanworth replied with one
of their own to keep it close. Alvinston went back
to work in the second producing two more runs. With
a 4-1 lead, they added one more in the third and
fourth innings, before both teams switched runs
later in the game. The final score was Alvinston 7,
Glanworth 2.
Scoring the runs for Alvinston were Jeff Lyons, Joe
Triest, Andy Triest, Jeff Ingram, Ryan Chapman,
Aaron Stocking, and Jamie Shields. Driving in the
runs were Chapman (2), Shields, J. Triest, Stocking,
Chris Drew, and Eric Hyatt. Brad Young pitched 6
innings for Alvinston to earn the win. He allowed
two runs, both unearned, with 7 hits, and 4
strikeouts. Doug Charlton came in in the seventh
inning for the Indians and struckout 2. Chris Drew
was 3/5 for the Indians, Andy Triest was 2/2, Jamie
Shields was 2/4, Chris Sheppard and Tom Jobson were
1/2, while Stocking, Chapman, Hyatt, and Jeff Ingram
were all 1/3 in the game. The Indians had 14 hits in
the game and walked on three occasions as well.
The Indians are now 8-1 on the season, and will play
in Fingal on Thursday evening, against the always
tough Shedden Mission, beginning at 8:00pm.
