Sarnia,
On – General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced this
afternoon the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club has acquired
overage forward Taylor Carnevale from the Windsor
Spitfires.
The Sting have sent their own 2nd round pick in the
2015 OHL Priority Selection as well as a 3rd round
pick in 2014 and a 2nd round pick in 2016 that
originally belonged to Windsor and were acquired by
the Sting in a earlier transaction.
Carnevale produced big numbers last season splitting
time between the Barrie Colts and the Spitfires. In
63 games the native of Mississauga would score 35
goals and 35 assists for 70 points.
Beaulieu explains his thoughts on the transaction.
“Its an exciting day for the organization to acquire
a player with the skill level of Taylor. He is a
dynamic forward who put up big points last season.
Combined with the elite level forwards we already
have on our roster there is no reason to believe he
wont put up even bigger numbers this season. We’re
instantly a stronger team five on five but also
Taylor will make our power play that much better as
well. I think our fans will be excited to see Taylor
and what he can bring to the table.”
The
Sting also acquired Patrick Harrison from the
Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for future
considerations.
Harrison
a 19 year old defenceman from Vernon, Ontario played
in 55 games with the Frontenacs last season and was
a +6.
