sarniasports.com june 8th, 2011

After a short rest the Sarnia Fury Black U9's found themselves back on the pitch in league action. Having competed in the Middlesex tournament over the weekend, the boys were up and ready for league play. Their opponents were Bluewater's U9 team "The Boom". These teams met over the weekend with the Fury winning a hard fought battle by a score of 4 - 2.

On a hot and humid Tuesday night, the Fury travelled to Sunoco Park for the rematch.
Although the weather was harsh it did not affect the tempo of the game with both clubs coming out fast and furious. Fury would strike early with Mateo Troiani opening the scoring on a perfect left shot placed in the corner of the Boom net. Continued pressure in the Bluewater end was awarded with additional goals from: Tristen Konrad, Ryan Janssens, Nathan Hawkes and Kyle Flamminio. Fury would go into the half up 5 - 0.

The second half began with the same Fury intensity. Defence continued pressing the ball forward and mid-fielders and strikers did not disappoint adding 5 additional goals. Converting the goals were: Nathan Hawkes(2), Mateo Troiani (3), Kyle Flamminio (2) and Isaiah Edlington. Strong performances were evident by Fury defenders: Alex Newall, Christian D'Agostini, Dean Palimaka, Nathan Ingles, midfielders: James Brown, Dominic Krasinkiewicz and striker Carter Barron. Finally, Fury keeper Andrew Harron stood tall preserving the shutout enroute to the Fury's second league victory!

Final Score: Sarnia Fury Black 10 vs. Bluewater Boom 0
