The
Sarnia Imperial football season got underway on the
weekend, as Sarnia travelled to Toronto to take on
the Titans. Unfortunately the Imperials were
defeated 44-0. Sarnia will take on the Toronto
Raiders on Saturday, June 4th in their home opener.
The
Peewee Sarnia Sturgeon football season got underway
as well, as the Sturgeon defeated the Titans 36-0.
The
LSSAA boys baseball semi-final match ups are set for
Thursday, as the St. Christopher Cyclones will play
against the SCITS Blue Bombers in the first
semi-final, while St. Clair will travel to LCCVI to
take on the Lancers in the second semi-final.
On Tuesday, May 31, three Wyoming Bantam pitchers
combined to throw a 7-0 no-hitter against Dresden.
Joey Vanderwal pitched a perfect first 3 innings,
striking out 6 of the 9 batters he faced. Eric
Steeves then took over for innings 4, 5, and 6. He
struck out 7 while walking 2. Christian Kerrigan
closed out the 7th and overcame 2 walks and a hit
batsman by striking out the side. Kerrigan also led
the hitting attack with 2 hits. Wyoming scored 4
runs in the 2nd inning and then broke the game open
by adding 3 more in the 6th. The Wranglers are in
Forest for a 6:30 start on Thursday the 2nd and then
head to Corunna for a 6:15 game on Friday the 3rd.
