Sarnia,
ON - LSSAA action still continues in Sarnia, as the
girls two pitch tournament was held on Thursday. The
SCITS Blue Bombers won the tournament with 10-0
victory over St. Chris, 9-7 victory over LCCVI and
23-4 victory over North Lambton in round robin play,
finishing first in their pool.
In the
championship game they faced the undefeated Northern
Vikings where the defeated the Vikings 9-4 to win
the LSSAA girls two-pitch championship. SCITS had
stellar defence from Becca Neely at third, Abbi
Dobson at first and Emily Williams at rover who made
a diving catch with 2 runners on to end the inning
and prevent a 3 run homer late in the final game.
Offensively the entire team did very well, with
Maddy Neely, Makenna Harrison, Jill Rogers and Becca
Neely leading the way.
The boys baseball finals is also set, as the SCITS
Blue Bombers won their semi-final match against St.
Chris 11-7, while LCCVI scored two in the 6th inning
to defeat the Colts 2-0.
