Sarnua Fury Black drop last two games

SARNIA FURY BLACK vs. WALLACEBURG (July 19th)

Sarnia Fury Black were back in action having strung three consecutive wins. Their next opponents were the U10 Wallaceburg team. It was a beautiful evening for soccer with all kids ready to play.

The game started with a quick pace as both teams were anxious for the first goal. Wallaceburg connected early from a partial breakaway, striking a low shot which eluded the Fury keeper. Fury striker Carter Barron evened the score shortly after. Wallaceburg would score three more before the half. Carter Barron picked up his second of the night to bring the Fury within two goals. A late goal was scored by Fury mid-fielder James Brown, at the whistle, which was later disallowed by the referee.

The second half brought out the best in the Fury as they maintained pressure early and often. Fury striker Isaiah Edlington fired a loose ball through the legs of the Wallaceburg goalie to draw the team within one goal. Wallaceburg would get one back making it 5 - 3. Carter Barron completed his hat trick late in the game, allowing his team a chance to tie. Sarnia could not find the equalizer as the final whistle blew. Final Score: Sarnia Fury Black 4 vs. Wallaceburg 5.

SARNIA FURY BLACK vs. SARNIA FURY U9 (July 26th)

The Black Fury faced their Club counterparts Fury U9, for the fourth time in District league action. The Sarnia Fury Black have won all three previous meetings, however this night they played a hungrier more energetic squad. The Fury U9's have greatly improved throughout the coarse of the season and it was extremely evident on the pitch. Both teams started strong with most play concentrating in the mid-field. Few good scoring opportunities arose on both sides of the pitch. Michael Howe would open the scoring for the Fury U9 late in the half with a shot which dribbled past Black Fury keeper Andrew Harron.

The Black Fury pressed on in the second half with ample scoring opportunities but could not solve the U9 Fury goalie Toby Crossland. The U9 defense stood tall and strong and closed out the game with a shutout. Great effort and strong play were evident for both teams. Final Score: Sarnia Fury Black 0 vs. Sarnia Fury U9 1.
