The
All-Star Classic for boys LSSAA hockey went Tuesday
night at Sarnia Arena, and Team Micor came out
victorious with a 9-7 victory over Team Outfitters.
Team
outfitters took the early lead in the game, as Adam
Hayes (St. Clair) scored just forty-nine seconds
into the game. Team Micor would get their first as
Brett MacKenzie (North Lambton) made it 1-1. Troy
Whitely (LCCVI) made it 2-1, but thirty seconds
later Pietro Restivo (St. Chris) tied it at two. But
Karsten Berg (St. Clair) put Micor ahead after the
first period with a 3-2 lead.
The second
period started with St. Clair goalie Seth Hellinga
stopping Corey Pawley on a penalty shot. But Davis
Triest (LCCVI) would pop in the goal to tie the game
at three. Christian Savo (St. Chris) would give
Outfitters their second lead of the game with his
goal, but seconds later Dan Bowling (SCITS) would
put Micor back up. After the goalies changed, Keegan
Brandon (St. Chris) would score four seconds
later to give Micor the lead. Brandon would get his
second of the game minutes later to put Micor up
6-4. But Outfitters would come back, as Justin Moore
(Northern) made it a one goal game, and Restivo
would get his second of the game to tie the game at
6 heading into the third.
In the
third period, Elliott Pecora (Northern) would put
Micor up by one. MacKenzie would get his second of
the game to put Micor up by two, and CLint Rose (LCCVI)
would make it three in a row for Micor as they take
a 9-6 lead. Brad Jacklin (LCCVI) would stop Dan
Hachey on a penalty shot, while Restivo would add a
late third period goal for the hat-trick. Yet
Outfitters came up just short, as Micor takes it
9-7.
Boys
hockey is nearing completion with just a few games
remain on the schedule.
