In a very
close race, Sarnia Lady Sting Midget AA's have
manage for the time being to hold first spot in the
league standings. With a loss Saturday in Saugeen
and a win at home Sunday against Chatham Outlaws.
After a grueling drive in bad weather 2 hours to
Saugeen, Sarnia did not get the results they were
hoping for. After leading the game 1-0 into the
third period on a nice goal by Sierra Butler,
Saugeen manage to tie things up. With only five
seconds left in the game, it looked like it would
finish in a tie, but after winning the faceoff,
Saugeen's defense fired a hard shot into the net to
steal the win.
Sunday's game was much more one sided with Sarnia
easily winning 4-0. The Sting scored halfway through
the first on tip in by Karly Dobbin. She was
assisted by Jillian Rops and Maddison Turner. Sarnia
would net 3 more in the second period on goals by
Megan Moore, Sierra Butler, and her second of the
game, Karly Dobbin. Assisting were, Marlowe Pecora,
Jillian Rops, Madison Turner and Emily Williams.
Cassie Kerrigan was very strong in net as always.
Earning her 7th shutout of the season.
Sarnia has only two league games remaining. An
important game against second place Bluewater Hawks,
and the London Devilettes. A pair of wins would
cement Sarnia's top spot and make them untouchable.
