The St. Patrick's Fight Irish improved to 5-3 on the year with a 3-0 win over the St. Clair Colts in junior girls LSSAA volleyball action Tuesday afternoon.

St. Clair started strong as Chelsea Price served an ace to start the game, and Erin Gabriel hit a kill to put the Colts up 2-0. The lead would be extended to 6-3 before the Irish tied things at 6-6. Paige Tucker and Olvia Prins served up aces for the Irish to give them the lead in the match. But the lead would swing back and forth as the two teams would trade points and keep the game tied till 18-18. The Irish would take a two point lead 22-20, but two misses would bring it back even at 22-22. But the Irish would hold out and win the set 25-22, as they took the next three points for the first set victory.

In the second set, the Colts had issues keeping the ball in play and getting it over the net which helped to establish a early lead for the Irish. 7-1. Two Irish misses and a block at the net by St. Clair's Ashley Bissom made it 7-4, but the Colts would give the two points back on misses of their own. The Irish would build an 8 point lead on the Colts at 15-7, but the Colts would start to close to gap. Bissom would hit a tip over and Mickayla Westendore had two aces as the Colts draw the game to a tie at 15-15. The Irish would begin to make mistakes, hitting the ball into the net and wide, as the Colts go on a 12-1 run, and go from eight points down to two ahead. But the Irish would respond as Charlotte Stoesser served for three straight points to take the lead back 21-20. Stoesser then hits two more aces as she serves out the set with seven straight points to give the Irish the set victory 25-20.

In the final set, The Irish again would open a lead 6-2, but the Colts would cut into it and get it back to 9-9. They would trade points back and forth till 12-12 when the Irish would take two points and the lead 14-12. Claire Moran had two aces and a hard serve that couldn't be returned to make it 18-13, while Roxanne Hendrycks had two aces of her own to make it 21-14. With some Colt errors, the Irish would go onto win the final third set 25-17.
