The Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD hosted the London Nationals at the Clearwater arena on Friday January 14 and came away with a 5 – 1 victory.

London started the scoring with 2 minutes left in the first period on a low shot that fooled the Jr. Sting Goalie Cameron Stevens. That would be the only goal the Cam would let in as he stood tall and denied the Nationals on several opportunities.

Defensemen Gavin Lauzon would put Sarnia on the score sheet at the 10 minute mark of the second as he picked up a puck in the high slot and flipped a shot over the London goalie. Collin Zimmer picked up an assist on the Lauzon marker. Zac Moore would score the game winner unassisted with 4 minutes left in the second frame. In the third period Mathew Waun would score with an assist going to Beynon Jonas. Hayden Griffin would add more insurance as he filled the net with the help of Nathan Oliphant. With 41 seconds left in the game Nathan would get a goal of his own with assists going to Zander Campbell and Hayden Griffin. Stevie Schaefer played the second half of the game and was perfect during his turn between the pipes for the Jr. Sting.

On January 15 the Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD travelled to London to face the West London Hawks and came home with a 5 - 1 win. Zac Moore scored a hat trick while Stevie Schaefer and Cameron Stevens shone between the pipes for the Jr. Sting.

Hayden Griffin started the scoring for Sarnia only two minutes after the start of the game as he banged in a rebound from a Zander Campbell shot. Nathan Oliphant was also awarded an assist on the play. With two minutes left in the first frame Zac Moore scored the first of his three goals on a nice pass from Ryan Eyre.

At the six minute mark of the second period Zac scored a nice top shelf goal with assists being awarded to Collin Zimmer and Nathan Oliphant. Ryan Eyre scored only 18 seconds later on a nice feed from Evan Trigatti. Damon Skinn-Wai started the nice passing play and was also awarded an assist on the play. Zac completed his hat trick at the start of the third period with the help of Zander Campbell and Logan Johnston. The Hawks would score with five minutes remaining in the game to spoil the shut out.

The boys will enjoy a fun day of skating and swimming next Saturday due to a cancelled tournament and won't play their next game until January 28 when the West London Hawks come to Sarnia.
