The Sarnia Major Atom Sting ended 2010 with a
pair of ties and began the new year with a tight 5 –
4 win over Oakridge.
The Sting
would end up with a 4 - 4 tie against Burlington on
December 19. Scoring in this game was provided by
Brett Allardyce (Dawson Young), Matthew Torti (Brett
Allardyce), Jordan Hurtubise (Jake Vince) and Dawson
Young (Curtis Marks). On December 20 the Sting
would travel to London and battle to a 1 – 1 tie
with West London Hawks. Curtis Marks (Dawson Young,
Justin Houle) would score for Sarnia in this game.
The Sting
would begin the new year on a winning note over
London Oakridge 5 – 4 in another tight game. Austin
Coutts (Devin Devooght, Jake Vince) opened the
scoring for the Sting. After Oakridge scored the
next 2 goals to take the lead, Brett Allardyce (Jack
Smith) would score to tie the game at 2. Oakridge
would score the next goal, but once again the Sting
would battle back on a goal from Jake Vince (Matthew
Torti, Jack Smith). Oakridge would score a late 2nd
period goal to take a 4 -3 lead to the 3rd
period. Sarnia would score 2 goals in the 3rd
period, first by Dawson Young (Lucas Ross, Brett
Allardyce) and Jake Vince (Devin Devooght, Curtis
Marks) would score the game winner on the power
play.
