There were
21 games on the schedule or Tuesday, as girls
volleyball, boys basketball, hockey and curling all
had match ups take place.
In junior
girls volleyball, St. Christopher's topped North
Lambton 3-0, with 25-18, 25-12 and 25-20 set wins
over the Eagles. Erinn McCreath-Frangakis was named
the player of the game as the Cyclones improve to
7-1 and sit in second place behind Northern, while
North Lambton falls to 2-4 on the season.
St.
Patrick's got a victory against LCCVI winning 2-1 in
a close match. The Irish won 25-14 for their first
set and 26-24 in a close second set, while the
Lancers won 25-19 in their set win. Roxanne
Hendryeks was player of the game for the Irish, who
improve to 3-3 on the year and sit in third, while
Emelia Unsworth was the player of the match for
LCCVI who is still looking for their first win at
0-7.
In the
final junior girls match, Northern won 3-0 over St.
Clair to remain undefeated at 8-0 and hold onto
first place. They won 25-8 in the first set, but the
Colts managed to make it close in the second and
third with Northern winning 25-17, 25-19. Asley
Bisson was the player of the match for the Colts,
while Kelsey Crawford and Mackenzie Colbran was for
the Vikings. St. Calir falls to 2-6.
In other
senior girls volleyball action, St. Francois-Xavier
topped SCITS 2-1, with 25-20, 25-21, 19-25 set wins.
Emily Rail, Sarah Cole and Tori Burdett were players
of the match. St. Francois is now 3-5, while SCITS
is 0-7.
St. Chris
won its 5th of the year with a 3-0 win over North
Lambton, and St. Patrick's upset the first place
LCCVI Lancers with a 2-1 win, winning their two sets
25019, 25-14. LCCVI still remains in first place in
senior volleyball with a 6-3 record.
Shifting
to basketball, St. Patrick's topped LCCVI 42-20 in
midget boys action. Jay Mcauley was named player of
the game as the Irish remain undefeated at 7-0.
In junior
boys action, Northern just got by St. Clair with a
52-51 win. Theo Kanouzas scores 23 points for the
Vikings, while Dalton Kilmer added 18. Brad
Churchill had 14 for the colts, while Adam Waller
had 11.
St.
Patrick's also beat LCCVU 45-17, with Blair Reid
getting 0 points for the Irish, and Orestes Malespin
and Joel Mahon each getting 8.
In senior
basketball, the Northern Vikings won 84-51 over the
St. Clair Colts. Carter Winberg had 21points, while
Hayden Auterhoff and Tom Dowding had 14 for the
Vikings. Brandon Mason-Holmes had 22 and Denver
Spearman had 9 for the Colts.
and
finally for basketball, St. Patrick's beat LCCVI
63-29. Patrick Taylor had 19 points for the Irish,
while Paisley had 10 points for the Lancers.
Two hockey
games were also played between LCCVI and North
Lambton in boys and girls leagues. LCCVI won both
matches, winning the girls game 4-0, Jillian Ops had
1 goal and 3 assists, while McKayla Eves had o1 goal
and 1 assist, as did Karly Dobbn. Amelia Maniuk had
the shutout for the Lancers. In boys hockey the
Lancers also won, with the boys winning 7-0. Troy
Whitely had 2 goals and 2 assists, while 1 goal an 3
assists in the vitory. Christian Cousins had the
shutout.
And
finally in curling action, LCCVI won both curling
matches in boys and girls leagues. In girls they
defeated the Vikings 5-4, while in boys, they won
11-6, winning on two ends.
