Momentum shift critical factor at men's junior curling finals
andrew brethauer January 9th, 2011

Matthew Camm's rink from the Ottawa Curling Club finished a perfect provinical championships with their 7-5 win on Sunday over Michael Bryson's rink from the Annandale Country Club.

But that isn't to say it was easy. Bryson's rink came out firing, and challenged the perfect team from the start. After Camm took one in the 2nd end, Bryson's rink took two in the 3rd with a draw by Bryson, and then took one in both the 4th and 5th end, forcing Camm to make difficult shots that missed their marks. At the half way point, it looked as if the Bryson rink would pull off the upset.

But the momentum of the match seemed to switch, as Camm's rink would be the benefactors of some good luck, as Bryson put a rock through the house that allowed Camm to draw for the easy two, getting his rink back into the match at 4-3.

In the next end, Camm would get another point, drawing into the house close to the button, where as Bryson would be light on his throw and give up the steal. Camm sitting two again were on the better side of luck when Bryson missed another critical hit and roll, and left two in the house for the Camm rink again, giving them a 6-4 lead

Bryson had his chance in the 9th end to get two, but his rock rolled out to far and they were left with just one.

From there Camm's rink knocked off the rocks and left one in the house for the victory.

With the win, Camm's rink improves to 8-0, including 7 round robin wins. They will represent Ontario in Calgary.
