Jesse Drydak of the Sarnia Legionnaires has been
named Western Ontario Hockey Conference
player-of-the-month for December.
The
speedy right-winger won the honour for a spectacular
run in which he scored nine goals, 12 assists and 21
points in eight games between Dec. 2 and Dec. 30.
In
a pre-game interview just before his most
sensational achievement of the month, Drydak said,
“I've always had that itch to score goals, that's
for sure. It's my forte. I kinda like scoring big
goals late in the game.”
Within hours of making that statement, he scored
three goals, including the game-tying marker and the
shootout winner.
