The Alvinston Flyers are not in second place
in the North Division, two points ahead of Mooretown
with a 7-1 victory over Blenheim Sunday in Blenheim.
The Flyers
jumped out early to a 1-0 lead, as Tyler Drope
scored his second of the year just 2:12 into the
game. Later in the period, the Flyers would put a
powerplay goal on the board as Dan Warner made it
2-0 for the Flyers. Kyle Brothers would make it 3-0
with his 12th of the season, giving the Flyers 3
goals on just 7 shots.
Alvinston
continued the pressure, as Chad Rainesberry scored
1:34 into the first to put the Flyers up 4-0.
Blenheim would finally respond two minutes later as
Brendon Anger made it 4-1. But that is as close as
they would come, as Eric Nemeth would put in his 3rd
of the year to make it 5-1 to end the third.
Alvinston
would get two special team goals in the third, as
Chris Edwards scored shorthanded midway through the
third, and Rainesberry got his second of the game on
the powerplay to give the Flyers a 7-1 victory.
Brandon
Campbell made 26 saves for his 13th victory of the
season. Alvinston next takes on Wheatley on Friday,
January 7th.
