The Jr.
Sting went on the road to start a busy month of
January 2011.
Lambton were playing short-handed without the
services of three Minor Peewee AAA players. After a
rocky first shift where the Jr. Sting were hemmed in
their own zone, play went back and forth in the
first period until Nic DiScanno was able to give
Lambton the lead, scoring from close range. The
versatile Ryan Brown, who was moved up to forward
for the game, gave Lambton a two-goal lead when he
buried one upstairs after a nice pass from Jared
Pageau.
Sun County, also playing without the services of
three players, was able to score on the power play
mid-way through the second period but Lambton’s
Daniel Wellington “roofed” one to get the lead back
to two. Lambton was able to control the play and
kept the puck in the Panthers zone for long
stretches. Lambton held a 3-1 lead going into the
third period.
Pageau gave the Jr. Sting the breathing room they
wanted when he banged one home from just to the
right of the crease after a point shot from Garrett
Miller.
Lambton was able to secure an excellent 4-1 road
victory.
Jared Pageau had one goal and two assists.
Nic DiScanno, Ryan Brown and Daniel Wellington each
had one goal.
Jacob Williams and Garrett Miller each had one
assist.
Ethan Hunt had a great game in the nets. |
