Day two from the Provincial Curling Championship

After day two of the Junior Provinical Curling Championships being held at the Sarnia Golf and Curling club, their remained two teams on the men's side still undefeated, while four teams were deadlocked at 3-1 in the women's side.

On the women's side Clancy Grandy's rink won both their matches on the day, defeating first Stacey Hogan's rink 10-3 in draw 3. Grandy's rink would steal two in the 2nd end, and in the 8th end they would steal five for the victory. In draw 4, they defeated Ginger Coyle's rink 6-3. They fell behind by one after three ends, but took two in the 4th end. They would score two more in the month on route to their victory. They now sit with a 3-1 record.

Another 3-1 team is the Shannon Harrington rink who won their first match against the Jamie Sinclair rink 4-2. They would steal twice in the 6th and 8th ends for the two point victory. Their first loss came in draw 4 as they lost to Stephanie Van Huyse's rink 9-3. Van Huyse's took three in the 3rd end for a 4-2 lead, and stole three more in the 7th end for the large margin victory. Earlier in the day, Van Hurse's rink had lost to Jasmin Thurston's rink 6-4, as the Thurston rink scored three in the 3rd, and took that lead to the ending.

Thurston's rink rounds out the 3-1 teams, as they as well suffered their first loss in draw 4 to Jamie Sinclair's rink (2-2) 10-3. Sinclair's rink had three point ends in the third and 8th end. Sinclair's rink went 1-1 on the day, losing to the Harrington rink 4-2 in draw 3.

Ginger Coyle's rink went 1-1 on the day, defeating Nicole McNiven 7-5 in draw 3, and lossing to Grandy's rink 6-3. They are now 1-3. Stacey Hogan's rink went 1-1 as well, losing to Grandy's rink 10-3 in draw 3 while defeating McNven's rink 6-5. They as well are currently 1-3. McNiven's rink is winless and is 0-4 so far in the compeition.

On the men's side, Matthew Camm's rink is one of two teams still perfect at 4-0. Camm's rink defeated Derreck Veitch's rink 10-1 in draw three, stealing three in the 3rd end, and taking 5 in the 7th end before the match was called. In draw 4 they defeated Michael Bryson's rink 9-5. The match was tied after 7 ends, but Camm's rink took two in the 8th and stole two more in the 9th for the victory.

The other undefeated rink is Richard Krell's, as his rink also defeated Bryson's in draw 3 6-3, and Veitch's rink 8-5 in draw 4.

Veitch's rink falls to 0-4 on the tournament, having lost both matches on day two, while Bryson's rink falls to 2-2 after winning both their matches on day one.

Robert Collin's rink won their draw 3 match 8-3, taking four in the first end with the hammer to give them a strong start that they never let go of. But they would go 1-1 on the day after falling 6-2 to Matt Dickson's rink in draw 3. Collin's rink currently sits at 2-2.

Dickson's rink lost a close draw 3 match to Kurtis Byrd 9-7, as they currently sit with a 1-3 record. Byrd's rink also went 1-1 on the day, losing to Lindsay's 2-2 rink in draw 3.

Draw 5 and 6 go Friday while semi-finals Saturday and finals on Sunday.
