Lambton was at home Sunday afternoon looking to
complete their goal of winning all three games this
week.
Windsor was the opponent and the Minor Peewee AAA
Jr. Sting got off to a good start with Nash Nienhuis
scoring when his attempted pass bounced in off a
Windsor defender to get the lead for Lambton.
Nick DiScanno would increase the lead to 2 when his
wrist shot eluded the Jr. Spitfire goalie.
Daniel Wellington added another later in the first
period when he rang one off the crossbar and got a
favorable bounce off the Windsor goalie to get
Lambton a 3-0 lead after one period.
Lambton lifted their foot off the gas and Windsor
took advantage scoring late in the second to make it
3-1. Lambton’s Brennan McKegan got rewarded for his
strong play of late and buried one to make it 4-1,
Windsor was not going down easy though and replied
to make it 4-2.
Cade Robbins of the Jr. Sting scored on a point shot
when his hard slapper caromed in off a Windsor
player. Again the Jr. Spitfires answered right back
to make it a 5-3 game.
Goalie Ethan Williams was called on to make a big
pad save to keep it 5-3 and McKegan finally put the
game away when he stripped a Windsor defenseman of
the puck and slid it into the open net to make it a
6-3 final.
Ethan Williams picked up his second victory in four
days and had a good game in net.
AP defenseman Bailey Smalls from Mooretown had his
second good game since getting the call to help out
the short-staffed Minor Peewee AAA Jr. Sting.
Brennan McKegan had a very strong game double
shifting at center scoring two goals and also
getting an assist.
Ryan Brown had three assists.
Nash Nienhuis, Nick DiScanno, Daniel Wellington and
Cade Robbins each had goals.
Jared Pageau, Jacob Williams, Ben Schoch and Garrett
Miller each had one assist.
