The Alvinston Flyers got a big boost of confidence
heading into the playoffs with a big win over the
division leading Wallaceburg Lakers 3-0 on Wednesday
night.
Alvinston
got on the board in the first period with an early
first period goal by Kyle Brothers for his 15th of
the season from Joe Archer and Dan Warner to give
the Flyers the first period 1-0 lead.
In the
second period, Archer and Warner would hook up
Brothers again, as he scores his second of the night
and 16th of the season to put the Flyers ahead 2-0.
Wallaceburg could not get anything going and as
their shots did not generate any rebounds.
Chris
Wdwards would ice the game in the third with an
empty net goal as the Flyers shutout the Lakers 3-0.
Brandon
Campbell made all 33 saves to earn his second
shutout of the season and 15th win on the year. Matt
Berglund made 22 saves on 24 shots in the loss.
Alvinston
will take on Blenheim on Friday, January 28th before
wrapping up their season a week later against
Mooretown.
Wallaceburg still has four games on the season, as
they face Mooretown next on January 29th and against
on Febuary 2nd, plus a home and home with Blenheim
in between those dates.
