The
Strathroy Jr. Rockets won the Midget B Silver Stick
championship with a 4-1 victory over Kincardine
Miller Midgets.
Strathroy
had the early advantage, putting two goals in the
second period. Mike Selegers and Brett Dalton made
it 2-0 for the Rockets. The Miller Midgets would
respond in the second when Dylan Sayle added a
middle of the period goal to make it a one goal
game.
The two
teams would battle it out in the third period. In
the final minute, Kincardine looked to try and pull
their goalie, but they wouldn`t get the chance to do
say as Mike Sharpe picks up a loose puck in front of
the net and puts it in to secure a two goal lead.
Sharpe would then slip another goal passed the
goalie with twenty-five seconds remaining to seal
the victory for the Rockets as they win the Midget B
final.
