The Valley East Rebels took home the Atom AA Silver
Stick championship with a 4-1 victory over the
Midland Northstars.
Midland
hung in early with amazing goaltending by Drew
DeRidder to start the game. DeRidder only gave up
one goal to Parker Savard in the second period to
put the Rebels up 1-0.
Midland
switched goalies in the third to Jeremy Slasor who
continued a great performance, but the Rebels were
able to find the back of the net multiple times on
the young goalie. Quintin Bertrand made it 2-0 for
the Rebels, while Christian Gaudreau and Damien
Giroux added the addition goals for the Rebels in
their victory.
Tommy
Middleton had the lone goal for the Northstars on a
breakaway, as he beat the defenders and put it past
the Rebels goal.
But the
Rebels would skate off to a 4-1 win and take the
Atom AA championship.
