The Petrolia Oilers Midget A team will move on into
the semi-finals of the boys Silver Stick tournament
in Sarnia, as they went 3-0 in round robin play.
The Oilers
started with a 4-1 victory over
Ted Reeve Thunder on Friday afternoon, and
followed that up with an early morning shutout over
the
Howard Huskies, as they defeated them 5-0.
Later that afternoon they took on the Bradford
Bulldogs and came away with a 4-2 win.
In
their three games the Oilers had 13 goals for, the
highest in their divisin, and only allowed 3, the
lowest in the division, to give them top stop. Of
the 10 teams in the Midget A division, Petrolia was
the only undefeated team.
The
Bradford Bulldogs, Whitby Wildcats and Valley East
Rebels will join them in the semi-finals, with the
Oilers taking on the 2-1 Bulldogs in their
semi-final match at 7:00a.m. at the RBC Centre.
Bradford had 8 foals for and allowed 7 goals in the
tournament. Their loss came to the Oilers in the
final game. The winner will take on either Valley
East or Whitby in the finals which will be played at
12:10 Sunday at Clearwater arena.
