On Friday
February 18 the Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor Atom MD
played host to the London Bandits at the Clearwater
Arena and won by a score of 5-0.
Zac Moore started the scoring for Sarnia at the 7
minute mark of the first period, unassisted. Matthew
Waun setup Moore for his second of the game with 2
minutes left in the first. Zac would return the
favor one minute into the second frame as he
assisted on a goal by Mathew. Collin Zimmer would
add to the score at the 7 minute mark of the second
period with the assist going to Beynon Jonas. The
Bandits would get some life in the third period and
had some quality chances but Cameron Stevens made
several saves including a spectacular glove save to
hold the Bandits off the board and earn his shut
out. Collin Zimmer would add another goal late in
the third on a nice passing play from Ian Bailey and
Ryan Eyre.
The Minor Atom MD team will next face the North
London Nationals on Friday the 25th in Sarnia at the
Clearwater Arena. Game time is 7:00.
