The
Petrolia Squires took game one in their best of
seven series, but game showed the playoffs can go
both ways as the Squires dropped game two 6-4 to
Milverton Saturday night to tie the series at 1-1.
Milverton
came out firing in the first period, jumping out to
big lead in the first half of the first period.
Brent Freeman scored on the powerplay three minutes
into the first, following by Brock Gerber 1:45 later
to make it 2-0 for the 4WheelDrives. Dan Berwick
would make it 3-0 for Milverton just after the half
way mark of the first. Just before the period got
out Dan Veenema got Petrolia on the board to make it
3-1 going into the third.
Unfortunately Milverton would get that goal back
within the first minute of the second as Colin Eby
made it 4-1 for the 4WheelDrives. It would take the
Squires most of the second to get back on the board,
but Jason Polera would make it 4-2 with four minutes
left in the period.
Again
though in the third, Milverton struck early as Kent
Merriam made it 5-2 and restored the three goal
lead. Veenema would get his second of the game, but
so to would Freeman to make it 6-3. Aaron Brand
would round out the games scoring, and the Squires
would flal 6-4.
Steve
Bryce made 30 saves in the loss.

will go February 11th in Petrolia game 4 the
following night in Milverton and game 5 will go the
